Accelerated - The Multiple Intelligence paper was due today and we read "The Feeling of Power" by Isaac Asimov to consider another perspective on intelligence and the value of it. English 9 and Accelerated - We will be wrapping up speeches on Thursday this week. Make sure you have your typed paper, works cited page, and score sheet on the day you are scheduled to speak. On Friday we will start our look at author John Steinbeck and his novel Of Mice and Men.

29 April - 3 May

English 9 and Accelerated - Speeches begin on Tuesday. Be sure you are ready to speak on the day you signed up to deliver your speech. Also, remember the field trip to see To Kill a Mockingbird on Thursday this week.

English 9 - We will be finishing reading Romeo and Juliet this week. The test will be Tuesday 3/26. Your study guides, lit term grid, and extra credit are all due on 3/26.

Accelerated - We will be finishing reading Romeo and Juliet this week. The test will be Wednesday or Thursday next week.

27 February - Spring Break

English 9 - We are done reading through Act II in "Romeo and Juliet." Please make sure your study guide is completed through Act II. We will be viewing what we have read thus far in the two films on Thursday and Friday this week.

Accelerated - We read Act I scene 3, 4, and 5 today. We will finish reading Act I tomorrow, and begin Act II and the balcony scene. Friday, we will view what we have read thus far in the Zeffirelli film.


All classes - Power reading for quarter 3 is due on March 20th!  No homework will be given over break with the exception of power reading. Please use the time to work and complete your choice book.

English 9 - We watched Act I i in both the Franco Zefirrelli and Baz Luhrmann films of "Romeo and Juliet" The handout that goes along with the scenes is due tomorrow.

Accelerated - Literary term grid. Define the 14 terms that will be used most frequently in Shakespeare's writing.

English 9 and Accelerated English 9 - Discuss "To Build a Fire" by Jack London. Turn in the sensory examples you came up with. Continue the TKAM film.

English 9 & Accelerated - It is, perhaps, the coldest day of the year. Please read "To Build a Fire" by Jack London on pages 517-534 in your textbook. It will be easy to see how much we have to appreciate the power and danger that cold can possess.

8 January

All Classes - Finish reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Friday. Test will be Monday or Tuesday next week.

4 January

English 9 - Vocabulary Test. Read Chapter 23 for Monday.

Accelerated - Vocabulary Test. Read Chapter 16 and 17 for Monday.
